does pvc plastic container provide adequate amount of protection against uv rays?

I would like to know if i store some uv sensitive stuff or something that could be degrade in the long run by uv rays in these kind of containers http://ace.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pACE3-1415657enh-z8.jpgcause some of my friends told me that if the light can't shine through then uv can't get through as well is this true?

It is not possible to tell from that picture.

If the container is black then it will almost certainly block UV.

If you want to be really sure, wrap it with aluminium foil (the sort used in cooking).

so something that blocked out the light does not guaranteed to block out uv then am i correct? and actually the one I'm using is not the exact one as depicted in the picture it's actually blue anyway thank you very much for your reply
