magnetic theory of mine...

hi guys first time posting to this but I've had a theory rattling around in my brain for a little while and it's time I brought it to the attention of those possibly smarter than me.

so I have two theories let's see if I can properly explain them.

1. Controllable momentum.

say for instance you have a car tire, now take off the rubber, all you have now is a rim. Say you were to fix a group of magnets to the surface of the rim on a slight axis so that they could be moved slightly when needed but only about as much as this. ( position 1 / and 2 \ )

Similar to a teeter-totter. Now what if we added another circular surface over the top of the current, magnet covered, rim. It would only need a small cushion of space between them and the outer rim could be magnetized to have one pole on the inner and the other on the order side of the piece. In this situation we will have similar poles on the inside of the space so that they are always pushing away from one another. If you then changed the angle of the magnets facing outward on the inside of the rim wouldn't the hovering outside piece start to move in the direction of the magnetic force?

2. Levitation theory.

Let's say that I have a 12"x12" board that is covered in 1"x1" magnets in a checker board style so that the alternate magnetic poles. Now, if you had a 12"x12" magnet could you then place it above the other checkered board and have it be held in place by the conflicting magnetic pull/push?

I have been trying to figure these and a few more magnetic theories for a while now and I would love some feedback on this, thanks everybody.

as to the first part its easier to just use an electric motor

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_motor the advantage over a permanent magnet system is you have better control over the speed and you don't have to fight the force of permanent magnets to alter their position. in the latter case the rate is controllable with electromagnetic frequencies

as to the second magnetic levitation is done often
