Evolution of the lagging strand replication?

Featured Replies

Can anyone shed some light on the evolution of the replication mechanics for the lagging strand in DNA replication?

It seems to me that that was a huge molecular evolution hurdle to overcome for DNA to have replaced RNA as the main genetic storage template.

Any thoughts, theories, or links would be appreciated.
