Why is my Methyl 4-Methylbenzoate insoluble in water, hcl 5%, NahCo3 5% and Naoh 5%? Is it normal?

True. That is why things like glucose are able to dissolve. However, why are things like sodium chloride able to dissolve, save by polarity effects?
