Sarcocystis and Cestoda

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a few q's about human parasitology:

1. What is the body site of infection for Sarcocystis tenella. I know that they are found in the striated muscles, but in my textbook (Markell and Voge's Medical Parasitology on p. 149), it says that they can be found in the small intestines in the lamina propria part of man. Is the Meischer tube in cattle/pig only, or in man also?

2. What is the name for the brain of cestoda? Is it mortarium? My professor didn't spell it clearly on the board.

thanks a bunch!! :)
