Brain stem Injury-In coma since 60 days

Featured Replies

Dear All,

A friend of mine met a road accident and an injury to his brain stem occurred. She is not able to berathe on her own since the day of accident (around 60 days)and her BP also has to be controlled from time to time. She is not responding to any external stimuli. However her digestion is working fine and doctors said she had mensus also recently. The doctors are unable to take a CT scan to check if any signals are in the brain as she is on ventilator support and they are afraid to move the patient. Her parents have tried pranic healing and alternate medicines such as homeopathy with no affect. The doctors are also surprised on how the digestion works normally but not the lung.Could anybody feedback with suggestions on how the patient can be recovered.

Thanks

Vamsi

If the doctors who have actually seen and examined her aren't sure, don't expect random people on an online forum, few if any of which have a medical degree, to come up with a miracle cure.

From my understanding, comas in themselves aren't fully understood. And while some people swear to playing the patient's favorite music or putting a certain smell in the room helps, the only thing anyone here can really recommend at this point is to listen to the doctors, wait, and hope for the best.
