daniton
Is it possible to change phase of matter by compression in constant temperature?? Edited November 9, 2012 by daniton
CaptainPanic
Yes. But you might have to build a specific setup to study it. Most practical applications (compressors) are not isothermal (they do not have a constant temperature).
Enthalpy
Possible and done. Ice near 0°C is molten by pressure, hydrogen gets metallic, ice changes its crystal form... Changing from gas to condensed phase is much easier, since the pressure acts on a bigger volume change.
