Unit mass query?

Just started to read my "old" chemistry textbook and it said the following:- "Both protons and neutrons are particles with unit mass, but a proton has one positive charge and a neutron is electrically neutral."

 

Can I just ask what's the meaning of 'Unit Mass' in this context?
