MSG.exe problems, need help here

Me and my bro are connected to the same network.

He and I have windows 7 ultimate that has msg.exe.

When i try to message him it says 'does not exist or is disconnected'.

I dont see why this is happening.

Any help would be great.

Are you messaging him by usename or IP? Username and or machine name addressing may fail if you're not using a domain controller. If you are using static IPs on your network you could make an entry in the hosts file on each machine to aid name resolution.

yes i am using username.

There is no domain controller only homegroup

I will try it with ip now
