If anybody can give me information regarding this acid, such as how much is used in the world, what specifically is it used for, why do industrys and consumers need this compound, how toxic is the compound?, how can it impact the environment...basically the more information the better. Gilded Posted November 20, 2004 Share Posted November 20, 2004 It's used in the manufacture of pharamaceuticals and dyes, yet I'm not sure which in particular... It's extremely unhealthy (it has a 4 for health risk at the CAS registry), and highly corrosive (I'd imagine it easily loses the H+, and possibly the Cl- ?).
