Can somebody explain this?

I found it on website. I don't understand how it is possible, so if somebody is able to explain this to me I will be grateful :)

It is a geometric "optical illusion". It involves some cheating. The rectangle is not actually covered by the 4 pieces. The missing area is covered by the lines, which have finite width.
