incomplete molar pregnancy

Today was a very hard day for me and my wife. We found out the pregnancy was in fact a incomplete molar pregnancy. Three doctors have made assumptions as to the cause of this, and nothing has been determined so far. The blood work has been submitted etc. And the removal is scheduled for 7 days out. I dont understand how a cause is not determined, Along with the removal being so far out. Any doctors (obyns) that have aquaintance with this issue please advise. Is this a long term problem? Is this going to happen again? And What causes this to happen?
