Genetically modified foods (also known as bioengineered or transgenic food) are foods which come from genetically modified organisms. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are organisms whose genetic information (DNA) has been specifically changed in order to enhance/change/turn-off certain traits within an organism such as: size, nutritional value, adaptation within the environment.

I would say that is pretty much correct. Here is what wikipedia has to say:

"Genetically modified (GM) foods are foods derived from genetically modified organisms. Genetically modified organisms have had specific changes introduced into their DNA by genetic engineering, using a process of either Cisgenesis or Transgenesis. These techniques are much more precise than mutagenesis (mutation breeding) where an organism is exposed to radiation or chemicals to create a non-specific but stable change. Other techniques by which humans modify food organisms include selective breeding (plant breeding and animal breeding), and somaclonal variation."

lookls lik you've just reworded the wikipedia definition. the structure and phrases used are suspiciously similar
