Can anyone tell me any site (WWW) where I can find exaples of Positive

Binomial/Poisson distribution. These are the distribution formed by excluding '0' in both distributin. I have found article of Prof. Thomas W. Yee

of the University of Auckland on "VGAM Family Fuction of the Positive Discrete Distributions". The examples he has provided are quite interesting and used SPLUS. I have SPLUS 2000 (professional) version in which there is no VGAM( but has GLM) and no family=positive.binomial, so that I can check for the mle of say 'p' in case of Positive Binomaial and 'lambda' in case of Positive Poisson. Can anyone suggest any alternatives than what Yee have shown or any other method of estimate?

Moved this to Applied Mathematics because it's a better home for the thread.

What kind of examples are you looking for? I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what you're talking about with the rest of it.
