RyanJ
What do you guys think about Wolfram Alpha? Personally I think it's an interesting idea - ambitious but that's probably why I find it so interesting. It has the potential to do a lot of things IF the goals set can be filled. insane_alien
i use it quite often actually. its good for quick 'back of the napkin' calculations if i'm responding to a post on the forum and i need a ballpark figure or soemthing to compare it to. it also allows you to link to your working for it and let the other user see for themselves. it only gets better as time goes on. in short, i love it. I find it useful for quick calculations or calculations that I really don't want to do myself. It has saved me a lot of time since I got used to it. Plus being able to "just ask" is helpful. Mokele
Absolutely useless for biology. Contains pretty much nothing, not even the most rudimentary information, and frequently misdirects. Vastly overshadowed by wikipedia.
Mr Skeptic
Absolutely useless for biology. Contains pretty much nothing, not even the most rudimentary information, and frequently misdirects. Vastly overshadowed by wikipedia. Give it some time. Isn't it less than a year old yet? But yes, biology will need a lot of information.
Mokele
I doubt it'll ever be useful. The massive disparity makes it obvious where priorities lie. There's not even an entry for "muscle". That's not just lag, that's neglect.
Cap'n Refsmmat
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=muscle&a=*C.muscle-_*Material- It's not generally supposed to be an encyclopedia. It's supposed to contain data and perform various calculations with it.

Vastly overshadowed by wikipedia. The biology section is still largely a work in progress due to the vast volume of information required. But it is being worked on - give it some time and see what they come up with
