That's actually there pee. Sort of.

 

Birds excrete excess nitrogen as uric acid, which is less soluble in water than the urea in urine which we excrete. That's why it's much more solid.

and also alot of calcium, hence it`s often called "lime", some of it later goes into producing shells for eggs (the calcium that is).

 

I can only assume that the green stuff that`s often in it is some sort of greenery and bile that didn`t digest?
