what makes them think that "non-space" is well, just that?

Featured Replies

im reading a book wich really opened my eyes to this, i love it. but i have one question about it. it talks about spaces possible/what they say probable curve, well i know there was that satelite that said that it wasnt, but i think that its just really too big for that satelite to catch its curve. but thats all off point, what i want to know is why people think that non space is just something that doesnt have anything and possibly has no time.

it doesnt really explain why, but i want to know why they think that. is that what is still thought? how can anyone tell? why cant this non space above and under the curvature of space be something thats filled with stuff? cosmos, other worlds, life maybe. why do they think that its just a vaccum desert with different physics. the different physics part, maybe, but why so similiar to empty space? it also goes alot under the assumption that its mostly bubble shaped. why not the curvature of space be fluctuated? maybe thats why the galaxys are speeding away from each other. fluctuating space moving them.

this book was written in the late 70's so its probably pretty out of date.

anyways, any ideas? i love talking about this stuff.

Cameron, if you wanted a scientific discussion you would need to provide some more coherent basis.

Your conjectures and questions here are rather nebulous.

For example might help to say what book, and what satellite you mean. Be definite, and give some links so that people can easily see what you are talking about.

On the other hand the general tone of your post suggests you may simply wish to speculate and elicit speculative responses from others. In that case perhaps you don't need to give links or any solid detail, just give free rein to your imagination and have fun! Good luck, either way.

what satelite=the Wikinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe, or WMAP.

what book=interstellar travel. by jhon w. macvey.

but i really just want to talk and speculate on the curvature of space.move me if you will.

i also wanted to figure out why, in this book also, it is thought that the space between our space is empty. couldnt it be the opposite?

whis is also off topic, but i was watching the universe and it was talking about parallel universes, and the lhc was in it. it said that it could help see if there were parallel universes, at least thats what i thought i heard. how?
