Stars form within reach of blackholes?!?!?!

Without too much comment really.

Apparently the latest woolly thinking & frantic Back-Pedalling says that - and this is a quote from the article -

 

The finding suggests that the molecular gas at the center of the Milky Way from which the stars form is denser than previously thought. The higher density gas makes it easier for the self-gravity of the condensing cloud to overcome the strong pull of the black hole and to collapse to form new stars.

 

What????!?!??!?!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Why is that so shocking?

 

Black holes are supposed to have infinite gravity, that means nothing escapes. And yet we see stars forming on the edge of the black hole, remember it takes millions of years for a star to form, wouldn't the black hole just eat it?

A common misconception, a black hole is any object with all it's mass withing the schwartzchild radias. They do not have "infinite gravity", the maths does break down at the singularity though.

The do radiate though.

Outside of the event horizon, this is an important fact.

Do you have any links to back your statements.

 

Again I say, if the Even Horizon has never been observed, then why has it been accepted by the scientific community.
