I agree with AIP that usable superconducting wires would be the most immediately useful thing on the list. IMO the LHC shouldn't even be on the list.....yet (once it does what it was built to do is an entirely different matter).

Yes! the iron-arsenic superconductors! because the wire is more flexible than the copper compounds, and also IIRC they work at around 50 kelvin.
