person
i have made thermite using Al and Fe2O3 and it worked beautifully but i wonder... Could i use iron chloride as the oxidising agent instead of iron oxide ?? Will this work and if so how will it be different from Fe2O3 ? Will it ignite with the same amount of heat? Will it give off the same amount of energy ? Will the colour be different ? Any dangers (aside from the dangers of the normal method) that i should know about? thnx !! Any help appreciated !! Gilded
We had a thread about this a while back. As it turns out, it's more difficult to use than more conventional mixtures.
