frosch45
I have 20 Baume Hydrochloric Acid, concentration of about 31.25%. I know that performing electrolysis on the solution would only produce hydrogen and oxygen, but is there any way (or any reaction) to seaparate this into hydrogen, oxygen, and/or chlorine (diatomic gasses)? Fuzzwood
Electrolysing that will yield chlorine, not oxygen. Have you picked up a book yet?
hermanntrude
most likely you will get a mixture of chlorine and oxygen (and hydrogen at the other end), but i think chlorine would be the favoured product. I cant be sure, though since i have no idea what a baume is. what happened to moles per litre?
frosch45
baume is just another way of measuring it.... its about 10.25 mol
