Hades
to determine moles of a chemical, u must know the mass in terms of grams. then multiply this number by 1/molecular weight or simply divide it by molecular weight. Well take OH- . i cant remember the atomic mass of O so im gonna round, i think its 16. H is 1.007. H= 1.007 O= 16 17.007(g) if u have 10 grams of the compound, either multiply 10.000g x 1/17.007 OR divide 10.000g/17.007 the answer is .588 mol or if u have molarity and volume, u can determine mol this way as well. Take M(molarity) and multiply by L(liters) MV= moles
