World Population

Featured Replies

I just wanted to get some opinions, is the world overcrowding with people?

My opinion is no (not yet at least), if you get all the people you can nicely fit them all shoulder to shoulder in Jacksonville Florida. :P

Another factor is food.

lol. I think yes, for the land available to us. We are cuttong down rainforests to make homes for other people, ruining other animals habitats!

Population growth isn't uniform all over the world. In developed countries (such as the U.S. and Europe), population growth has slowed. I think it might even be negative in a few countries, such as Japan. Developing countries, on the other hand, still tend to have higher population growth.

One factor in population growth is female literacy. The better educated a women is, the fewer children she has. Population programs are encouraging literacy programs in developing countries as a way of slowing population growth.

excellent, kill two birds with one stone!

population control AND equality :)

there`s nothing worse than this "dumb broad" stereotype socialy, it sux!

as for plants and wildlife, there should be MORE "no go" areas and stricter laws regarding violations of this.

I think where possible each person should be put in charge of a peice of land and make it fertile and grow things on it (ok, so my veiw is a little biased), it certainly wouldn`t hurt anything though :)

yeah, they should increase the number of parks, wildlife sanctuaries etc. Just some place that should be untouched so that they can help the endangered species. As for the number of people...REDUCE IT!!! I know that Chine gives extra benefits for people that only have one child. If they have two children on purpose, then they have to pay tax, schoool fees etc. A good idea indeed!
