why does symbol recognition suck so badly on computers? It seems that everything I write on a tablet like device is misunderstood just because I don't draw the symbols in the same order as other people do.

they generally try to make the recongition system more or less as-you-type.

if the strokes aren't quite what it expects, it'll look for the closest match. sometimes before you finish the character. let me guess, a T becomes an L before to put the dash on it?

there are some text to type converters that work on images, perhaps you could try one of them. or do you actually need the live update?
