Link between types of cancer and neurons?

Featured Replies

I'm not much of an expert on cancer, but after reading a few articles, I wonder if the same mechanism that drives cancer cells to replicate at an accelerated rate (mitosis malfunction) could also be the same mechanism that halts neurons from undergoing mitosis when mature? Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not an expert in neurology, but i recall reading some articles (or talking to a neurologist?) saying just that. I don't know if it worked or not, or even if people are still looking into it... mmm i'll try to find more info though.
