WebSpecials

Featured Replies

To make a long story short: i was VERY dumb and gots me that web specials thingy. I tried almost everything and all free software that's out, but no use, it's nested everywhere. So, i decided to format my drive.

So, how do i backup everything without copying webspecials?

How good are you with computers? As far as i can see, you just need to delete the WebSpecials folder and the dodgy browser-helper-object, then clean out your registry.

Alternatively, either Ewido or trend micro online scans should be able to shift this wee booger.

Nevermind, it's gone now. After all that trouble. Gone. Just like that! Weird. I couldn't delete it, it seemed to have several copies somewhere. I cleaned out the registry and really tried all free software i could get. That was last year or so. Now Avast got rid of it.

I'm just happy it's gone. :D

Yep.

Yet another victory for Avast!
