Meteorites discovered to carry interstellar carbon

Featured Replies

We have all heard the theory that life may have originated somewhere else in the universe and then came to Earth on the back of a comet -- well, this may be partially true.

Researchers used a microscopic imaging technique have shown that some meteorites can and do contain simple organic compunds, some up to 7%!

Could this mean life came from or was kick-started by an asteroid? This we don't yet know but the possibility is there.

Wow, maybe the beginning of our existance in a little piece of rock.

Or perhaps, it could be a message from an alien civilisation indicating their presence by sending out the building blocks of thier life. (You never know )

Very interesting nonetheless
