First, my question involves transferring packed-decimal data via ftp from a mainframe (EBCDIC) to a Unix platform (HP I believe).

 

The Eunuchs claim that they can neither read or convert the data into a decimal format. I have to convert it to text for them.

 

Are they right? Or are they just lazy or stupid?
