New Interview Process

Featured Replies

I'd like to see this thread used to develop the ideal system for hiring a new position in a company. The job and company dont' have to be anything particular (but it's probably best not to talk about cashier as McDonalds).

Personally I see a lot of flaws in America's current system and wonder if anyone else has any issues with it and if we can come up with some improvements and/or way to instate these improvements.

For one, I find grades a terrible reflection of ability to perform well in a position. I would much rather see grades have no reflection on a person when aplying for a job. Instead, I would propose in depth interviews and/or actual demostrations of one's abilities be used to hire for a position.

Any thoughts?

I agree with the you to a point. I worked full time while I was also a full time student and so I had a C average. I understand that that would suggest that I was not the best student but the fact that I worked at both full time does show that I have a good work ethic. The tutoring job that I have currently asked me to demonstrate how I would explain math problems to students.
