Post count per forum

Featured Replies

It was suggested a while back by someone that it would be very nice if we could see how our post count is divided into each forum.

For example it would say: "You have X posts in Physics, Y in Chemistry and Z in biology"

Is this feature or something similar possible to implement?

Why would the query speed be an issue?

I assume with the current post count it is stored in a database. Everytime someone posts then 1 is added to their current count.

With the posts per forum would it not be a similar method. So when you set it up it will take a while counting all the posts, but after that initial count wouldn't it be the same speed as post counts?

I suppose if this system was implemented then when you post 2 values need to be updated (post count and count in forum) although I wouldn't have thought that would noticeably slow things down.

And thanks for looking :)
