A few tought questions

Featured Replies

I cant seem to figure out

1. How does water interact with other molecules (give examples too please)

2. How does water moderate the effects of temperature changes and what causes water molecules too speed up at a slower rate.

3.How does cohesion help tall trees (I know it involves water moving up the tree)

I am curious to know the answers

Are you talking about chemical interactions or inter-molecular?

2. How does water moderate the effects of temperature changes and what causes water molecules too speed up at a slower rate.

Water is often used as a heat buffer because of it's high specific heat capacity... because of hydrogen bonding. Is that what you wanted to know?

3.How does cohesion help tall trees (I know it involves water moving up the tree)

The phloem in the tree acts like a straw. When a water molecule transpirates out of the top of a leaf' date=' water acts like a chain (because of cohesion and H-bonding) pulling water molecules from the soil.

No offense, but I've seen better attempts at hiding homework problems... if the questions are for homework, don't lie about it.

Ha i wasent even aware it.s not like im embarrassed about admiting it i just thought it would be unnesisarry to say it was homework. Its not homework though its just ridiculously hard extra credit. Im in freakin eigth grade and we have only basically touched the surface of these topics. I tried googling answers, wikipedia, and asked my bro in 12th grade. I diddnt get much. Ecoli You are amazing. :)
