If its the same as with just about any other cell the moment it runs out of Oxygen the cell cna no longer resperate and so it has no energy and withotu any energy it can't function so it dies.

 

I think thats the basics of it - was that what you were looking for?

I'm looking for something on how the neuron fires and how o2 is used in the process. How is the movement of charge initiated, and what chemical is involved?

The homepage, http://www.rmcybernetics.com/ , seems to be oriented to selling things. I would be suspicious of science presented here.

You most likely go into a euphoric state once oxygen stops reaching your brain. Your brain releases tons of endorphins before you die, so that could explain a lot of those "illusions" people have.

What is suspicious about "selling things"?

 

There are google ads on this very page, but are you suspicious of this site? Everyone needs to make buck.
