If there any reason why the earth's magnetic field lines up with the north and south pole? Nasa data indicates that seismic waves travel faster N-S than E-W showing that the center of the earth is structurally organized with respect to the poles. Did or does the high thermal gradient with the poles induce the magnetic field direction?
