a small explosion to kick up dirt. i need to make dirt clods fly in a an explosion.

 

there are better ways to achieve this, I`de advise Against having the actual explosion do this, but rather a mechanical device timed to go off with a pyro display giving the Illusion.

a ballanced plank of wood with dirt on the one and and something to pull the other end down will throw dirt up in the air, you could burry a few Air Bags even. drilled piping and gas hose to a CO2 canister... the list`s endless, THAT is why I reccomended electrical matches, you can time them beautifuly, the fuse would be just show.
