Terraforming Mars

Featured Replies

Oh yeah, I forgot about the long Venus days. As for the perpetual motion, how would you get the matter back to the ground?

Edited. Oops, nevermind. Didn't notice the 2 pages.

daymare, if we pumped water to mars, what would happen to earth?

it would take alot of water in order to make an effect

I think we should send a probe to a apssing comet, impact it and send it hurtling towards mars. If it strikes the planet just right it might speed up the rotation just enough to increase internal friction and restart the core. Plus the vaporized comet will serve as at atmosphere enhancer. Next seed the planet with microogranisms that eat rock and produce CO2, then... etc.

It so damn ambitious that it has to be done! How cool would that be whole other planet to colonize, abuse and then finally destroy and throw away!

Well im not a meteorologist and all I can see as a bad effect is some possible wind changes or something. The enormous good side is that we would get a lot more landmass on Earth for us to live on. What do we need all our water for anyway?

well the amount you would need to remove to make an effect on mars would be catastrophic for earth we would suffer major droughts world wide

With the ice caps melting I'm sure alot of poeple will be happy to see the water go.
