Liquid Lenses

Featured Replies

Does there exist a substance that is clear, liquid and magnetic? I have heard of magnetic plastics recently and was wondering if a substance like the one I mentioned would be able to be suspended (possibly in space) in an electromagnetic field and manipulated to make a perfect lens. Is this feasible? Would it be any better than the solid ones we have today?

Why dont you tll us what applications your looking to use it in.

Hey I'm not going to be using this, I am just thinking about the capabilities and was interested in what you guys think of it. I would expect a perfect lense to be used for observing distant galaxies and such.
