questions about nitric oxide and autophagy

hey guys, umm.. i'm thinking up a science project for next year and i've stumbled upon something having to do with nitric oxide and autophagy. but i'm not that advanced and i really dunno what exactly to test it on. like.. production of NO by autophagic cells or effect of NO in autophagic cells etc.. anyway, i hope its not pointless in any way and tell me what you think. :)

i don't know how you would test this... unless you had access to some proper equipment... maybe do something with a radioactive tracker and a centrifuge?

What is autophagy and what relation does nitric acid have with it?
