  1. I said this in another thread, but I remember as far back as being held in (supposedly) my mothers arms and someone else was trying to give me a spoon of something. I remember wailing my arms and knocking it out of there hands. Then, someone else held my arms and it was given to me again. I remember crying while it was being given to me....this time with success. Thats my earliest memory... I have others....like being put on a trycycle and pushed from room to room... Bettina
  2. Yes. I know what I feel is real...at least to me...and I am an "observer" type. I tend to listen more and speak very little in public.
  3. Sorry to be such a pain, but my answer still stands. The original post is not flawed and the example given was clear. The plane is not tied down and free to move. As the propeller screws thru the air, it pulls the plane along....thru the air.....and takeoff speed will be reached......and it will take off. The wheels of the plane offer little resistance against the propeller. What would happen if it was a jet aircraft capable of 27000 lbs of thrust. When that jet lights up, its going to move irregardless of the conveyer belt moving in the opposite direction. Groundspeed has nothing to do with airspeed. Sorry, but I'm positive this is correct. 5. I think when a person sees a policeman on the corner they don't feel violated in any way. Protected even. But the security camera is considered sneaky to them and they don't know who is watching, or who may misuse the information it gathers. Personally I would like a camera everywhere. The last few robberies, and abductions were caught on tape where no policeman was around. Later that evidence helped convict them. Bettina
  6. I understand what your saying, and your correct. However its not what the original poster asked. He asked "will the plane take off or not" (given the scenario he presented), so I am going to stick with my post #9 which I believe is right. Bettina
  7. QUOTE from padren.... A couple questions: 1) Do you see other people in general, how "head strong" they are, do you feel like others have stronger convictions and more "forward" personalities than yourself? 1) No and yes....My convictions tend to be on the strong side and I have difficulty or unwillingness to change it if I think I'm right. My personality though is opposite. I may sound forward here, because I am not face to face but in real life I am much different. I tend to be quiet and don't speak much when in mixed company. 2) Do you have strong convictions on how the world should be Yes...very much so. and how you want to enact change? or have a strong feeling of what you want to do with your life, a firm sense of purpose?No...I don't know how to make the world change and I'm not sure what my purpose here is yet. I wanted to be either a nurse or teacher, but now I'm not sure. If you feel "yes" to 1, and "no" or "kind of but less than most others" to 2, you may have a sort of "pure observer" sense of self, which is more prone to being emotionally overwhelmed. Please don't be offended if I am way off or feel like I am trying to size you up with some insta-assumptions, I'm taking stabs in the dark in hopes something rings. 3) When you visually loose yourself in a scene, do you hear yourself thinking you'd like to stop this, or are your thoughts consumed by the event? Unless I can quickly break away, I'm very much consumed by the event and I can feel my eyes well up instantly. I told my doctor a few years ago that I felt it affect my hearbeat and I could feel it pounding. After and EKG he attributed it to anxiety. Good luck trying to figure me out.
  8. I'm a little confused about the question, because I have to assume an airplane, say a piper cub, has an engine running. If it does, and it is traveling at 80mph airspeed, it will get airborne even if the conveyer belt is moving at 80mph in the opposite direction. Airspeed is not the same as groundspeed. If we are talking about just groundspeed, then it won't. Thats my guess. Bettina
  9. A friend of mine wants to build or buy a seismograph and I said I would help him. He wants to detect earth tremors and display them on a computer in real time. So, some questions. 1. Is there an internet site that you could use someone elses sensor to produce charts on your computer? Similar to how you can hook yourself up to webcams all over the US. 2. Where can we get some inexpensive sensors. 3. Is there a link to a build your own sensor that is reliable? I have some links, but I would like some more input.... Thanks Bettina
  10. I'm on Fluoxetine....I'll ask my physco doc. Here is an interesting link and an excerpt that perfectly describes me, only multiply it by 10. http://healing.about.com/od/empathic/a/plightofempath.htm Empaths are sensitive to TV, videos, movies, news and broadcasts. Violence or emotional dramas depicting shocking scenes of physical or emotional pain inflicted on adults, children or animals can bring an empath easily to tears. At times, they may feel physically ill or choke back the tears. Some empaths will struggle to comprehend any such cruelty, and will have grave difficulty in expressing themselves in the face of another's ignorance, closed-mindedness and obvious lack of compassion. They simply cannot justify the suffering they feel and see. I'm cheating now....I'm not supposed to discuss things with others. Bettina
  11. I clicked on everything.... Then I ended up buying something. (girl stuff) ... Bettina
  12. Well, Psyco Doc hasn't figured it out yet and I'm getting tired of going to these meetings because 45 minutes with him feels like two hours. Since I can drive there myself now the burden is lifted from dad, so its unlikely he will let me quit. I will admit that the pills he gave me keeps me from getting really sick. I only go down to a depressed state instead of hanging my head over the sink....so, I guess thats progress. Bettina
  13. I'm not offended. I can't respond because I'm not quite sure what your implying. Bettina
  14. Your NOT stupid. Your a skeptic. There are no stupid people here. Bettina
  15. Everything.....When I first responded to your post and posted it, I went to moonmirror.com thinking it was something to do with the moon and at first had problems getting in. Then when I did, I saw it was for sale and I assumed you were a spammer. Sorry for the wrong impression I had on you.... Bettina
  16. No, its just his first post, and his link is just a domain for sale. I guess I may be wrong about him...sorry. Bettina
  17. Tiger's Eye... Thanks for the lesson on Japan, but I already know the real reason the bombs were dropped. Also, in case your referring to me, I haven't changed my mind one bit on the classifications of people. I wish we lived in a world where that would be unheard of, but we don't...so I can't. Bettina
