  1. Tooth enamel contains a compound with the formula Ca10(PO4)6(OH2). Why can a child's teeth be damaged over time if the child is put to bed with a bottle of milk? (HINT: Milk can break down over time to produce lactic acid. I was thinking the solution would be like this : Acid + Base = Water + Salt Acid (Lactic acid) : C3H6O3 Base (Tooth enamel compound) C3H6O3 + Ca10(PO4)6(OH2) ----> H2O + ???????? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it!
  2. A solution with pH 10 is changed to pH 7. How much stronger or weaker has the solution become? How many more/fewer hydrogen ions are there? I was thinking because each step of the pH scale is 10x stronger/weaker, because pH 9 is 1 step (10x), pH 8 is 2 steps (100x), pH 7 is 3 steps (1000x), the solution has become weaker by 1000x. For the hydrogen ions, I was thinking the same thing applies, am I correct for thinking like this?
