  1. Hawkings is to Hawking Radiation This has do do with the thermodynamical nature of black holes
  2. Imaginary numbers do not occur in the real world (they are very useful mathematical tools, like negative numbers), they do however arise in relativistic calculations dealing with a velocity faster that light........beta will become greater than 1 and therefore gamma will be the root of some negative number.
  3. You could about finding the force coefficient, elastic limit, potential energy stored when stretched.......the list goes on. Consider the topic of Materials and Structures.
  4. Back to the original question, yes there is a time dialation, relitive to an observer on the light beam (of course this is not going to be he case as no observer may travel at or greater than c)
  5. Asking where the energy came from is like asking "what came first, the chicken or the egg"?
  6. hmm yer it does seem like BS. T waves can penetrate clothing and make it visible to a CCD camera in much the same way as IR does.

    Why C?

I believe that 'c' was derived from some of Maxwell’s formulas....which agreed with some previously taken measurements.
  8. I do agree that Tesla dose not get the recognition he deserves.....most people have not even heard of him.

    Appcompat

Hi, Well I have looked just about everywhere, and i am almost positive that i do not have WinTools (i have been through a lot of the removal guides as well). I doubt the games are at fault because have tried running it on another computer and they seem fine (they even ran on my computer prior to my clean install, at that stage i was running XP with SP2). My Specs Are: AMD Athlon XP 2000+ @ 1.68 GHz 256MB DDR PCI 2100 Geforce MX400 64MB I know the graphics card seems old but even some old games encounter the same problem, which makes me think it is software related. So it seems I have hit a brick wall PS: Thanks for the site.....just what i was looking for

    Appcompat

Hi, thanks for the speedy reply -The programs that seem to crash are the newish 3D games, like Underground 2 and Pro Evo Soccer -I have tried re-installing them with no luck -I believe Underground 2 is compatible with SP2, i have heard no reports saying otherwise -I whave looked all over my computer, but cannot find any traces of WinTools -I would consider myself an advanced user
  15. The way I see it, If the rod was to be tapped and a compression wave traveled down the rod it would travel the same speed that sound travels in that medium, a lot slower than c. If the rod was pushed by hand then it would accelerate according to the force applied by hand, say at a rate of .5m/s^2. So if the person at the other end required the rod to be pushed into his hand .001 m (so that he could feel it) and the rod accelerated at .5 m/s^2 then the time taken for the 'information' to be sent, t=sqrt((2*.001)/.5)=>.063s. The only way the 'information' could be sent faster that c would be if the rod was accelerated faster than c => the hand must have and infinite energy source to do so. The only way the 'information' could be sent instantaneously would be if the rod had to travel only 0m for the pulses to be noticed, which is impossible. PS. Sorry if i am alittle confusing, kind of hard to explain what i am thiking
  16. Hi all, Running:Win XP SP2 Its bveen about 2 onths since i last did a clean install of my comp and now i am getting some funny error when i try to run openGL applications. They simply crash before any graphics are displayed and say that a file appcompat.txt was involved. I have done a bit of searching on the net but have found no specific solution for my problem. Some sites blame it on the spyware 'WinTools" however i have found no trace of this on my system. Just wondering if you guys had any experiance with this problem or sugestions on how i might fix it. Thx alot -Lucas
