  1. what exactly is a ghost. I've seen all these "ghost hunter" people, and they have much more experience in these subjects than i do, but i think its all in the mind. I lost a brother to suicide a couple of years ago, and as much as i think he's around, i understand its more in my mind, creating effects, than anything supernatural. But you never know, you can find out when your times up.
  2. thinking about immortality, i know im going to die, as is everyone else right now. there's no science that is going to save you, but i think one day it will. I think the key is to understand the brain, in incomprehendable detail. nothing is impossible, but still fear holds us back. we have many, many years of evolution ahead of us. im not going to see it, but i take comfort that it will happen
  3. i love the gravity argument. My take is that everything in existence creates gravity, from the largest... to the smallest fundamentals that we dont know of yet. when we find out it should be a good time
  4. is there any discussions on why gravity, which affects everything is the most weak force that we know of, what is the theory of a gravitational leak. I've heard of this through m theory...maybe there's something new Merged post follows: Consecutive posts mergedi know its a very strange idea, but i was thinking about the source of gravity and i realized that all the matter, and dark matter as well as the variable percent that we cannot detect should be creating a much greater force. I believe there is some research into this.
  5. an unending question. would anyone really want to be immortal. everyone if they believe it or not is afraid of death, not so much as an end to your corporeal being, but the fear that there is nothing else beyond. Einstein had the idea that energy cannot be destroyed, and thats what we are, so take comfort in that. but if not you wont have to worry. youll be dead
  6. besides chemically stored in neurons, can an actual thought, or perceived as a thought contain any kind of mass to create gravity
  7. can there be a model of an expanding universe
  8. damn good answer, but not what i'm looking for
  9. does thought have gravity
  10. what would the value of light be at exact point in contacting the event horizon of a blackhole?
  11. I believe that Einsteins relativity theories are the biggest leap in thought and science in these modern times. Everything since has been based upon Einstein. Everyone in the science community to school kids have all come to some kind of understanding of his theories.
  12. wasn't there an idea that gravity is the the most predominant force in the universe? Stronger than the weak and strong nuclear. And that it somehow leaked to another brane?
  13. dark matter is just a term for the things that we cant figure out yet. 75% of the universe, let the math work itself out.
  14. This might have been answered but does light have infinite energy. If a black hole has an event horizon, this is the point at which light cannot escape and hovers at a certain point. What keeps those particles at that point. I can understand that every mass has an escape velocity, but if that is even or more than 186000 mps what keeps that mass there?
  15. For now know the ultimate goal of space exploration could be classified as expansion. We have achieved as much as any species on this planet can for now. The parts of the Earth that we cannot reach we look to the stars for the answers we can't find here.
  16. As much as 13.7 billion seems like a very large number, it is very limiting. This would be more philosophy than science, but could we actually believe that there was an absolute set beginning to existence. This is the struggle that contains us. There is no way to know. Did time begin at the Big Bang. M Theory tells us no. Like with anything there is yes and no. Up and down. Matter and antimatter. Time moves forward and can move back, but there has to be an order, a harmony.
  17. everything has boundaries at their specific point in space/time. At any given point in time, that's as far it can expand. What's next, who knows... but at that point the universe has a finite nature.
  18. I can comprehend up to 10 spacial dimentions, but I have a problem with 1 time dimension. With any spacial dimension (at least 3 right now), but if there were more, should there not be at least 3 time dimensions. And if m theory is correct should there a time dimension for all of the grouped spacial dimensions
