Warning: Noob Question. What type of thrust would you need to send something into orbit (around earth) from the ground?

that would be cool... anyway with the fact that room temperature would be impossible, how could I create a helium refrigeration? I understand how refrigeration works but what would be required to liquify helium? (I just realized that I must sound very stupid. Please bear with me.)

Is it possible to make a room temperature superconductor with some type of polymer? Would it be possible to do in a high school lab?
