  1. While there seems to be a huge confusion between if the substance is a venom or a poison, it's still an interesting article about the ants. I've heard that many small insects have been changing/evolving; one of which bieng the cockroach. I don't remember where I read this from, but I read that there is a new species of cockroaches that actually have wings! The new species of cockroach was found in New York City; I can only hope that they don't find their way down to my area. I believe that if cockroaches and such are changing themselves into something new, that it's no suprise that there's a new toxin found in these ants.
  2. This article is quite the shocker towards the extensive research of black matter. Even though the author stated that these finding were not as accurate as they seem, the discovery of WIMP particles, as the author mentioned, could be findings of black matter since many scientists agree that black matter forms from WIMP particles. This could be a huge step for our understanding and comprehension of black matter.
  3. STOP BEING HYPOCRITS, PLEASE! I'm getting tired of these kinds of posts all over the Internet - what is so special about being 'Informed' by conspiracy - theorists? If anybody was truly concerned about what somebody made up in their own head fom an interpretation; that is an average everyday person - that does NOT have a degree in Political Science has to say, they can read the bill or report themselves. Raither it be that you're getting it from a Concervative or Liberal new station; you're going to give a bias Conservative or Liberal interpretation if you read the bill(s) or report(s) from the subject. Please, Stop your rambling.
  4. It is a very interesting question I must agree - although, I'm not sure if it would be something that is possible; Plants need a place to feed, breathe, and to gain some form of nutrition. Just - as any living-being would also require. Without a gravitation to keep this nutrition in place; It would be mere chaos and almost uninhabitable - unless, of course, there is SOME kind of nutrition that is alike to our Sun and gives a water source to keep the plants alive. - I don't believe it is possible to do so, then again, this is only my hypothesis.
  5. Hello Science Forums, I'm a Freshmen in high school. I've always been interested in Science, but I always found it difficult to grasp. So I was just wondering; where do you BEGIN to grow a large understanding of the Earth around me? I've always been inspired by EVERYTHING you all do, and I'd like to help grow an ever expanding knowledge of the Earth just like most of you. So, I'll just ask in the form of my most common questions for people like you: > What books should I read to grasp a better understanding? > What should I focus more on and less on for these subjects? > What would be the best, more effective ways to stay informed of today's scientific discovers? Thank-You, -I2012.
