  1. This is actually an experiment for optics. So the goal is to characterize the optical imaging system.
  2. Well, the main idea is to look at the point spread function of the optical system.
  3. The particles should appear fixed on the cover slide. They are for testing an optical system so I will need to be imaging single nanoparticles rather than imaging into a volume.
  4. Basically I have a bottle of high concentration 20nm gold nanosphere solution. I want to put the nanospheres on microscope coverslides (fixed), each gold nanosphere has to be spaced out by some distance. After that I have to look at the scattering of the nanospheres in a microscope. Has anyone got any experience in this? All I have found online are staining techniques. And how would you tell a gold nanosphere from much larger dust particles?
