  1. only 10% of icebergs are above the water line. given that information, its highly unlikely that the titanic was bigger or heavier than the iceberg. additionally, you can't just throw a ship in reverse like you can with a car or small boat, larger ships like that can take miles to come to a complete stop
  2. you can use corel draw or adobe illustrator for vectors. as far as i know, nothing else will make vector drawings.
  3. i don't think you need math to solve who is better. you just need to organize a round robin tournament.
  4. i think it also has something to do with the core of the bat. the core obviously doesn't run all the way to the end or you'd be able to see it.
  5. before i read moontanman's post i was going to say exactly the same thing. dam's are always bad for the environment. in lakes they affect the temperature and ruin the ecosystem. the construction of a dam is just more pollution. environmental concerns aside, the logistics of building a dam in the ocean would be near impossible. the currents and tides of the ocean would make this a near impossible feat. if you're concerned about glaciers melting, take up the climate change cause. we've done the damage to this planet, we can't damage it more by building dams.
  6. yes! technology is making us lazy....AND dumb. example- last year i was driving in the mountains to get a christmas tree. i was following my GPS to the farm we were heading to and like an idiot, just followed the purple line on the screen, and against my own judgement decided that the GPS knew what it was doing....well i ended driving up the mountain on a tiny dirt road and it just keep getting steeper and steeper. good thing i have 4wd and can drive in reverse pretty good or it could have ended up a lot worse! moral of the story, don't always follow the line on the GPS! if it LOOKS wrong, it probably is wrong!
  7. and this is roughly based on the cost of a cruise ship. that floats. therefore doesn't need the structural integrity of something capable of sustaining pressures of deep ocean. and all the systems (oxygen, plumbing, electrical, etc) to support human life. there will also need to be space accounted for growing food, as the cost and logistics of getting food delivered would be ridiculous.
