  1. I don't like Hi-V so won't go there. I recall that LEDs will work in reverse. On that premise I am thinking to build a small, short and narrow plastic tank for a cloud chamber illuminate it with a few LEDs and cut off the ends of enough other LEDs to span the width of the tank and likewise dimension at 90 degrees. It seems to me it would help if the LED frequency of those in the receiving matrix were such that the muon track would light up better (lighter) than the surrounding medium with the emitters. Which colors (blue (uv), green, yellow,orange, red (not ir) ) would best be used? My thinking is green emitters and a yellow matrix. I need some input. I know the color change is likely to be minimal and the signal quite low but its my thinking a couple of 747s should jack it up enough to register. Comments and explanations seriously appreciated
