  1. So I have finally decided to go back to school. Its been nearly 5 years since I was last in a formal educational setting. I dropped out of high school, but have made the choice to attend a county college and hopefully transfer to a 4 year school (Rutgers University). Major will be Computer Science. I've decided a little catch up work is in order as I never payed attention in school. As far as math goes, I'm starting at the basics. Just finished a basic arithmetic book. Adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, etc etc. Now, I know this is very basic, and thats what I was going for.... My question is, where do I go from here? If i remember, pre-algebra came after basic arithmetic? Can anyone recommend any good text books for pre-algebra or any good online resources?
  2. Hey all. Lets make a long story short here. Im a highschool drop out. However, an intelligent high school drop out. I've decided to go back to community college, and the hopefully, if possible, to a University. Interested in physics. I've decided to reteach myself as much math in science as possible, starting from very basic levels, to compensate for the fact that I have forgotten quite a bit, and so that I may test out of a few courses in community college. -Can anyone recommend good websites for learning math from as basic a level as pre-algebra? -Any specific text books that anyone could recommend, in any subject? -Is it even possible to go from a highschool drop out to a graduate with a PhD in something as complicated as physics? (Im not worried about how long it takes)
