Chocotaco

I have a small case study, nothing special but it kinda got me a bit. The main topic is pretty much on the Central Nervous System, Action Potentials, and so on. It asks what would happen if the extracellular potassium is ten times higher than normal in the brain tissue. I know it would cause some sort of seizure, the extra potassium would make it depolarize to make an action potential. But I don't know how it would cause a seizure effect. Would that skip the refractory period forcing it to depolarize at a faster rate giving you seizures?
