  1. thanks for the info ,what is at the centre of a galaxy? is it a black hole and if so why does it not suck all the matter with it?
  2. 1. why do they form spirals ? 2. why do they attact each other ? 3. what happens when they collide?

    light ?

what relation does wavelength have to the human eye that we percieve the colour of it and would there be any relevance to time when it changes from one wavelength to another.
  4. raf

    light ?

does gravity effect time (say near large objects but does not effect the speed of light) Yes, although if spacetime is curved the light will follow the path of curved spacetime so if it follows the curve it would not Necessarily go in a straight line so it should take longer to get its desitnation????

    light ?

Black holes are not special. Light follows curved spacetime which is caused by gravity. will gravity affect the speed of the photons therefore increase the time to arrive at a destination? The energy of the photon. So it depends how the photon is created. do different wavelengths like PURPLE and RED get to a destination faster than the other as one has more wavelength than the other and how does it change from one too the other(process and conditions)

    light ?

need some clarity does light travel in a straight line? does it bend with different mediums? is light speed constant through different mediums or does ir slow down? what changes the wave length of light as red has the longest and purple the shortest? when you answer are they the same when light is exposed to gravity (except black holes)?
  7. thanks Reflex reactions like avoiding pain can bypass the brain, getting processed by the nerves in the spinal cord. The spinal cord says yank your hand back, and then sends the signal along to the brain saying ouch does it bypass the brain as to pass the less advanced processes to the nerves in the spinal cord? so i have been burned once , now when im a situation of a hot cup, how does my mind deal with this situation (the pain/pleasure fight/flight principle, memory, concious and subconcious). The process of how the brain intergrates new information and how it accesses the already integrated information as a basis to intepret the new data?
  8. Does the brain impose principles and values to intergrate information to learn from experience! is it first concious then subconcious if so how do i unlearn old intergrated behaviour patterns.if i hold a hot cup my reactive reponse would probably be to drop it, is this subconcious ...how does the nervous system come into play here! Please excuse me if my question is not precise , if there is any websites that anyone can recommend on intergrating of information, behavioural patterns, nervous system ect and how that work together !
  9. I believe Einstein said "you cannot travel at the speed of light because if you did, you would instantly reach your destination. but if the distance is 10 light years away ...even if you travelled at the speed of light you would not reach your destination instantly.
  10. You misunderstand what is meant by observer. Anything that is present to experience the dilation counts anything that can make a measurement. The clock counts as an observer. so the clock stays the same, its just that time appears(perception) to be slower for the observer? if c is constant then distance would be a factor and time would be altered in the sense that the light would take longer to reach us so we might see the same event at different times if we were at different distances! but the man made clock should be the same its just that both people would record a different time of the event.
  11. Its a perceptual illusion in that its not real. Its only real because we give a name to the effect . i think you mean its a perceptual illusion that its REAL.its only real because we give a name to.... time is a process and the event is real but our perception of it (subjective, distance, ect) may be viewed differently as we are bound by our eyes and open to perception.so your present may differ from mine with the elements of ( long distance, speed of light) but in every day life, the difference in time between two people should not vary much even if they are standing in different positions viewing the same event.
