I have to take back the mean things I said about linear algebra. Turns out it is very useful in both quantum physics and machine learning.

If someone asks me about my morals, I tell them I'm a resurrectionist. "Oh, so you're a Christian?" "No, I steal dead bodies for science."

Learning about the Wilcoxon test for non-parametric statistical data. They teach EE's probability, but not statistics. Glad I'm learning these things because I couldn't tell you what a p value was before.

Reviewing Linear Algebra is Kind of Dull. It lacks the fun factor that Discrete Maths have, and the descriptive awesomeness which is Calc and statistics.

In quantum mechanics, one is usually interested in infinite dimensional spaces, so really that is functional analysis. But, in quantum information theory people usually consider a finite number of states, usually 2. Here you really do use linear algebra. And amazingly, there are still open question in linear algebra that come from quantum information theory!

Statistics is awesome because it makes numbers alive. That is, it accounts for a phenomenon to be considered dynamic..subject to variables...affected by the universe.
